Hi all,
I have a Pocket PC Phone Edition running Windows Mobile 2002. I have two PC
synced with the PDA, both are running Windows 2003 w/SP2 installed about a
month ago. Active Sync 3.7.1 is installed on both.

Everything has been fine as I use the PDA to keep the data synced (calendar,
contacts, notes, tasks) between my home and office computer. This weekend
the home PC refused to sync with the PDA on Sunday (after syncing all day
Saturday!). When I dock the PDA the sync process appears to begin normally
with the categories to be synced listed but before ActiveSync can list the
number of items in each category or the number to be synced, ActiveSync
disconnects and says "Synchronization Error". There is no indication of what
the error is. I can not find a log file on the computer or the PDA. Today,
in the office, I synced the PDA, went to a meeting, synced again, then
ActiveSync did the same thing on my work PC as happened at home. Now I can
not sync either location.

I have rebooted both PCs several times. I have soft reset the PDA several
times. I have unplugged the docking station. Reloaded ActiveSync. I do not
want to hard reset the PDA as there is a lot of software (and data files)
loaded on the PDA.

This problem is significantly post my SP2 updates.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi froglips,
As per your information you are getting the "Synchronization
error". This could be because on your pc the repl.dat is corrupted. If you
are not using the correct Repl.dat file, synchronization with the current
partnership is no longer possible. To do so delete the all the patnership and
soft reset the device and create the patnership again.
